Levels of Preparedness
When looking at what skills and equipment I need to acquire I found it useful to categorize them in to various levels so that I may address them all equally well. when Preparing it is best to start with the first levels and get them down, and then progress to changing your whole way of life.

Level A
can get home from where I am.
On my person, I have:
food and water for the trip and means to obtain more.
Fire making tools
a route map with multiple routes for the possible walk should the roads be too chaotic to drive.
a tool for self defense and know how to use it.
basic sanitation.
the ability to heal minor aliment associated with walking long distances (sunblock).
portable shelter.

Level B
When I Get home I have:
Enough food for 30 days in pantry
Enough water for 30 days in water tank for sanitation and drinking
Enough ammo and firearms for defending food and water against foreseeable threats
electrical Power source with fuel for 30 days, or Alternative electrical Power source (optional)
Medical Aid kit with most simple meds.
Basic communication system radios.

Level B 1 optional
a place to shelter underground against natural disasters for those who live with you. (optional)
a place too shelter over ground against flooding for those who live with you.(optional personally i live 1600m above sea level)
Filters and a fan in a safe room prepared against biological threats for 30 days for those who live with you.

Level B 2 optional
a place to shelter underground against natural disasters for those who live with you. (optional)
a place too shelter over ground against flooding for those who live with you.(optional personally i live 1600m above sea level)
Filters and a fan in a safe room prepared against biological and chemical threats for 30 days for those who live with you.

Level B 3 optional
a place to shelter underground against natural disasters for those who live with you. (optional)
a place too shelter over ground against flooding for those who live with you.(optional personally i live 1600m above sea level)
Filters and a fan in a safe room prepared against nuclear, biological and chemical threats for 30 days for those who live with you.

Level C
Defensible, safe location.
Seeds and information on planting a veg garden, and place to plant it, that you own.
Plant you own vegetable garden and maintain it (with 3 months supply of food for those who live with you.)
Water tank for garden usage for 3 months water
Water tank for drinking water for 3 months
Tools to do home reloading and gun-smithing
sustainable electrical Power source (optional)
Livestock on your property enough for 90 meals for all those on your property or the ability to go hunting.
Medical aid kit with advanced meds.

Level D
Alternative living location established with all that level C provides
Ability to get there via improvised transport
Live stock for 1 year to feed those who live with you.

Level E
Group actions
Trading goods
Division of Labor
Group Fortifications
Plans for reestablishment of local Government (optional)
Plans for reestablishment of Civil services (optional)
