Surveillance of a homestead


Ultimately surveillance is about using ears and eyes to gather information about a possible enemy and your surroundings, to get forewarning, to give you the largest tactical advantage, to plan an ambush or evacuate with as much warning as possible.

Extending coverage of these senses gives a longer warning, and more time for reacting to, or preparing for, a security threat.

Defensive Arrangements for Homestead’s


All windows and doors, should have expanded steel mesh, used for barbeque’s, fitted to them in an angle iron frame to keep grenades and other object from being thrown in.

home steads should have a designated safe room, with the Radio, within the farmhouse that could be defended until support arrives, this is best if its a central corridor that allowes the farmer to move into other rooms to attack those outside through the windows.
Build sand bag walls in front of sleeping areas and under bedroom windows to stop bullets passing through walls as single brick walls will not stop 7.62×39 mm rounds, sandbags can be stacked in front of doors, to provide secured firing arc’s, about a meter away from the main building,
fox holes should be dug to provide fire positions, and escape tunnels also dug,
Beds should never placed against the outside walls of a farmhouse.
